It seems now that humans can actually smell this according to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.guardian.co.uk\/science\/2008\/dec\/04\/smell-fear-research-pheromone\" target=\"_blank\">this article<\/a> in The Guardian:<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;People can unconsciously detect whether someone is stressed or scared by smelling a chemical pheromone released in their sweat, according to researchers who have investigated the underarm secretions of petrified skydivers.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The research was funded by US <a href=\"http:\/\/www.darpa.mil\/\" target=\"_blank\">Defence Advanced Research Projects Agency <\/a>and the military might want to use it as a weapon&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Dr Lilianne Mujica-Parodi at Stony Brook University in New York State stated that: &#8220;We demonstrate here the first direct evidence for a human alarm pheromone &#8230; our findings indicate that there may be a hidden biological component to human social dynamics, in which emotional stress is, quite literally, &#8216;contagious&#8217;.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.workvitamins.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/03\/the_naked_gun_2_12__the_smell_of_fear_image171.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-684\" title=\"the_naked_gun_2_12__the_smell_of_fear_image17\" src=\"https:\/\/www.workvitamins.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/03\/the_naked_gun_2_12__the_smell_of_fear_image171.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"283\" height=\"161\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Yet another reason to inject some WorkVitamins in the office!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A smell you sometimes smell in offices is fear.
